Basketball

The two oldest boys are playing basketball and Big J. had his first game tonight. He did great, so much more confident than last year. In the first quarter he got a basket and throughout the game he got the ball and got a chance to put up a couple more shots. We had a good time as family watching the game tonight but next week there are three games so that will be busy. Little J. does Basketball Camps on Saturdays. They work more on skills and learning the game and keeping it fun. He has been to two already and next time they'll break them into teams and scrimmage and teach the kids some basic game skills. Just wish it was a little warmer so they could go outside and practice in the backyard a little more.

New Look

A couple months ago I came home to a quiet house (a little unusual since I have 4 boys). There were whisperings and I knew something sneaky was going on. Well, I had was given my robe and some quiet time to take a bath with a great smelling candle and some bath salts. Also Tim gave me a basket with some other bath items and a gift card for a haircut and a pedicure. After my bath the boys gave me a handmade menu for me to choose dinner and dessert. What a wonderful family I have. Here is my before and after of my new haircut. Keep in mind that I forgot to take the after picture right when I got home with the way the salon styled my hair so the second picture is of how I did it one day (I'm still experimenting with the way I like it best). It was great to change things up a bit.

More Baby T. favorites

Obviously our little one has another favorite thing - putting small things in big things. Such as putting things in the trash can. We had been missing a remote control for a couple days and today and dug through the trash and not only found the missing remote control, I also found 2 of my hair curlers. Come to think of it, I'd better check to see that we have all our calculators - he likes to carry those around the house too.

These are a few of my favorite things

Tanner has some favorite things he enjoys to do. When he was about 6 months, his favorite thing was to crawl down the hall and play in thv b c v v vb v3 23 nm20 ,2 ,¶ e bathroom (ie: tip over the trashcan, etc.). Now he occassionally walks down there and climbs into the bathtub to play with the toys in there. He even did that at Grandma's housm me1 m , m,the other day. He also loves to climb into other things - boxes, buckets (with or without toys), cupboards, etc.1012202002025. And obvioulsy he has another favorite thing - typing on the computer any chance he gets. Some of his favorite things are things with buttons, ie: the computer, the TV remotes, telephones, calculators. He also still loves to climb the ladder of the bunkbed. Here's some cute pictures.

Baby T. First Birthday

January third marked our little guys first birthday. We had Grandma and Grandpa come over during the day and then had my brother and his family, and Tim's brother and family over for dinner and cake and ice cream.
Sorry the pictures are backwards. Above is Baby T. after he ate his cake and ice cream (he was ready to get out of his highchair in this picture.
His first chance to eat cake and frosting. He first just put his little fingers in the frosting gently. Once he figured out it was food and it was sweet, he went to town - mostly on the frosting. Ice cream was good but way too cold for him. He didn't like it after a few seconds.
We had spaghetti for dinner - one of his favorites.

Opening some presents.

Ice Skating

The family went ice skating for Kenzie's birthday and everyone had a great time. The kids did great - a little cautious at first but they figured it out very quickly. This was Dec. 27th. January 14th we actually went back and skated again because the kids had so much fun the first time. However they didn't last as long the second time. Little J. got a blister in the first couple of minutes and it was much more crowded since it was free skate night. After skating the second time we went to McDonald's where the kids got to use their gift cards they had gotten from Uncle Kevin at Christmas.

Same old same old

Not much has been happening in our family. The kids went back to school last week and we are settling into our normal routine. Get ready for school, Kids go to school and Mom cleans the house, kids come home, snack time, homework time, chores, some Wii, then dinner, get ready for bed, sleep, do it all again. I was thinking there wasn't much to write but look at the previous post for that answer. Anyway my Dad had his hip surgery and seems to be doing pretty good. I was able to go visit him at home yesterday. Also, Big J. started basketball and is enjoying it. Games will start in a couple weeks. Little J. will also be doing basketball camps on Saturday mornings beginning this weekend. So I guess really I should be glad things are monotonous right now because once games and camp starts we'll be busy again. Tim has made running a priority and I'm enjoying my Wii Fit so we can both aim at being healthier. I started walking again with my friend this week. It's hit and miss because we both take the babies and often it's just too cold to have them out there for an hour. Anyway, life is good.

Same old, same old . . . ??

I was just thinking of a title of this post. I was just going to say how things are normal, nothing new is happening and we just go through the same routine every day. Well I guess I wasn't grateful enough for the ordinary because Tyler was just going to empty the dishwasher so he could play Wii and you argued with me insisting that the dishes were not clean. I knew they were so I told him yes, empty them. Good thing he was insistent. I got up from the computer and went over to find PURPLE dishes!! It didn't take long for it all to click in my brain. You see, Tanner likes to take the silverware in and out of the dishwasher and this morning he was playing with CRAYONS. Sure enough there were 2 crayons in the silverware compartment (actually they were only the wrappers since the crayons had both melted and got washed and settled all over the dishes. The two colors were Roasted Red Pepper and Yellow Orange. The dishes are re-washing now, I just don't know if the waxy stuff will come off.
